Incredible to believe but “A Bonk”™ was originally created in the warped mind of pregnant theatre nurse Chris Chapman. At 8 months gone, an uncomfortable visit to the Patent Office with brother Pete, in order to register for Trademark resulted in a very embarrassed straight faced Patent Officer turned from a man totally void of reaction to a gibbering wreck, falling over his words to get his ideas out! It was then that we knew we were on to something! However, not to be rushed that was in 1990!

Since then this simple inoffensive yet infectiously humorous character has gathered dust in varying stages around the house, with occasional comments by family members that we really must revive the idea, only to be shelved again because of busy lifestyle. During a spell as Estate Agents (that’s another story!) Sisters Chris and Pauline were tempted to offer “A Bonk”™ with every sale, only to be scuppered by their horrified mother – who was brought up nicely! Often used as test subjects’ mother and her friends surprised the girls with the fact that even at the age of 70 “A Bonk”™ can make you giggle.

It seems by research, that across the adult age range “A Bonk”™ can bring you pleasure – like owning a pet has been proven to increase you life span, we would like to think that having a range of “Bonks” in your life could have similar affect.
